A note from our CEO:

As a former teacher and current school district Wellness Coordinator, I created Steeping Wellness out of a passion to infuse wellness throughout districts in the state of Wisconsin. The whole idea of Steeping Wellness is just that: to slowly infuse wellness opportunities for your staff in order to help balance the lives of those served, including students. I invite you to learn more about our amazing team (below) and contact us to help you improve the lives of those around you.

In Health & Happiness,
Kalise Horst

Our Team

Kalise Horst, CWP
Chief Executive Officer & Wellness Adviser

Kalise Horst has been a Health and Physical Educator for over ten years.  She currently serves as the Wellness Coordinator for the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District, a role she began five years ago, in addition to teaching. She carries the title of a Certified Wellness Practitioner from the National Wellness Institute and is also a Faculty Member of the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA). In 2019, she was named the Wisconsin Health & Physical Education Association’s (WHPE) Advocate of the Year. Kalise serves as a trainer for the DPI Active Schools Core 4+ program and has been lucky enough to train staff members in over 30 school districts around the state. These trainings encompass how to increase wellness opportunities for staff, students and families. She has been honored to serve on the Wisconsin Health and Physical Education Board as the Middle School Vice President and chairs the Advocacy committee.

Kalise loves bringing her experience as a teacher, her goal-oriented leadership skills and her ability to advocate for wellness to continue to positively impact environments. Her enthusiasm and energy is motivating. She is passionate about empowering staff, students and families to live their healthiest lives by providing knowledge and opportunities.

“If I were to describe Kalise in three words, they would be: Refreshing. Invigorating. Enlightening.”

Keith Bakken

CEO, Wisconsin Health and Physical Education

“My first interaction with Kalise was on my first day at GCMS. Every contact I have with her has been like the first, full of enthusiasm for whatever she is up to and done so with a sense of pride and professionalism.  I am proud to say I worked alongside Kalise, who does whatever it takes to help students, staff and families become better people in our community.”
